Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate in Maine
THE COUNTY

Where is Troy Jackson's accent from?

He was born and raised at the top of Maine, and he still lives there.

Allagash

Allagash, Maine. Troy Jackson grew up in that small town up in Aroostook County, and he still lives there. He is a fifth-generation logger who spent years putting in 80-hour weeks in the woods before he ever ran for office.

He called it a wicked big honor

On March 12, 2026, after dropping off his nomination papers to run for governor, he wrote: "It's a wicked big honor to have the chance to represent the working class in the Blaine House."

He never saw himself as anything but working class

Opening the 2020 legislative session as Senate President, he said: "When you grow up, never expecting to go to college, never feeling like you fit in a suit, and never seeing yourself as anything but a working-class person, you certainly don't expect to find yourself here."

Linda Deane, a retired mill worker from Livermore, said in September 2026: "I think he speaks from the heart and like a normal person." State Representative Matthew Beck said that month: "He's someone you'd expect to run into at the hardware store."

Thanking a crowd in Portland on August 20, 2026, Troy wrote: "That many people showing up on a weeknight to hear a logger from Allagash talk isn't about me."
