What is Troy Jackson's platform?
What he would work on in the U.S. Senate, in his words and his campaign's.
Troy wants working people to have one of their own in Washington. He’s fighting for tax relief for working people, Medicare for All, lower prescription drug costs, abolishing ICE, protecting reproductive rights, making billionaires and giant corporations pay their fair share, and getting money out of politics.
Troy wants a more affordable Maine
Troy Jackson has always been focused on making life more affordable for Mainers. On Maine Public's Maine Calling on October 1, 2026, he put it plainly: "For me, it's about economics. It's always been about economics."
His September 2026 TV ad "Simple" opens the same way: "Folks, what this campaign is about is pretty simple. If you work hard, you ought to be able to take your kid to the doctor."
Health care and the monthly bills
Troy Jackson believes that no Mainer should have to avoid the doctor, ration their medicine, or face bankruptcy because they got sick.
In the Senate he would support and cosponsor the Medicare for All Act and take on Big Pharma and insurance companies. He wants the federal government to negotiate drug prices directly, the way Canada, Australia, and New Zealand do.
He would also work to lower electricity bills, build more housing and make child care more affordable.
Taxes down for working families, up at the top
He will fight to cut taxes for working families and expand the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit. At the top, he wants the wealthiest Americans to pay into Social Security at the same rate working people do, by lifting the cap.
Rights and freedoms
He wants ICE abolished and replaced with accountable immigration enforcement that respects due process, protects public safety and treats people humanely. He will fight for a federal right to abortion, and he will fight to pass the Equality Act. He would support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and the PRO Act to make it easier for workers to form unions and bargain collectively.
On Gaza, his platform says no U.S. tax dollars should go to Israel's military.
Cleaning up Washington
He supports a comprehensive ban on members of Congress trading individual stocks. He wants a constitutional amendment overturning Citizens United, and public financing for federal campaigns on the model of Maine's Clean Election system.
He rejects money from corporate PACs, AIPAC, and Big Oil and Big Pharma lobbyists.
