Does Troy Jackson want to abolish ICE?

On January 10, 2026, he wrote that police "have covered my butt plenty of times at picket lines, logging blockades, and other peaceful protests over the years." In the same post: "I believe in law enforcement. I respect law enforcement." What ICE was doing, he wrote, "isn't law enforcement."

At the third debate, on October 13, 2026, he said he supports law enforcement going after bad guys, but that ICE has grown unable to do that job well. He would put the money into Customs and Border Protection instead.

He wants an immigration system that answers to the public and puts its resources on genuine public-safety threats, not indiscriminate raids and deportations.

On July 13, 2026, ICE fatally shot a man in Biddeford. His name was Johan Sebastián Guerrero.

Troy posted the next day: "Susan Collins voted to give $70 billion to ICE with no reforms. I'd abolish it."

He kept saying the man's name. "Mr. Guerrero was a 26-year-old father with a three-year-old daughter, and all he was doing was going to work," he said on Morning Joe in October 2026. At the first debate, on October 6, 2026, he said: "You don't put more money into an agency that is killing people across this country."

At the third debate, a week later, he opened his answer on ICE this way: "Well, the man's name was Johan Sebastián Guerrero. That was his name."
