SOUTH PORTLAND, ME — Fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson joined Carpenters locals 349 and 352 and other electeds and candidates for public office at the Portland Sea Dogs’ Carpenters Union Political Appreciation Night on Wednesday.
Jackson stressed the importance of each union member connecting with their friends and families to ensure Susan Collins retires in November.
“This race is about standing shoulder to shoulder with all of you, so we can finally have a Senator who engages with Mainers and has the backs of working people every damn day,” said Jackson. “Because the corporations and billionaires sure as hell stick together and elect officials who work for them. It's about time working people had the same thing.”

“It’s great to have Troy here tonight standing shoulder to shoulder with union members just like he always does. Carpenters know we can trust Troy to show up for us whether it’s in a legislative fight, on the picket line, or at a Sea Dogs game,” said John Leavitt, Regional Business Manager at New England Regional Council of Carpenters. “We have his back in his campaign for U.S. Senate just like he’s always had ours.”
Jackson, a member of five different unions over the years, including IUPAT, IUOE, UAW, IAM & LiUNA, has been endorsed by nearly 50 different unions as he runs for U.S. Senate.
