New Ad Highlights Troy Jackson’s Firsthand Experience Trying To Make Ends Meet For His Family
PORTLAND, ME — Today, the Jackson for Maine campaign released a new TV ad highlighting Troy Jackson’s first hand experience trying to make ends meet and support his family.
In the ad, “80 Hours,” Jackson, reflects on raising a family while working 80-hour weeks to try and make ends meet, and how those experiences drove him to fight for working people, protect Medicare and Social Security, and cut taxes for working families.
“I'd work 80 hours a week in the woods, and there still wouldn't be enough at the end of the week. You know, I never got a chance to see my kids grow up, and I still didn't make enough for what we needed,” says Jackson in the ad. “The people in power aren't suddenly going to make it easy for all of us.That's why I've been fighting back to protect Social Security and Medicare, and to cut taxes for working people, because you should keep more of what you earn.”

It was a terrible feeling as a parent.
I'd work 80 hours a week in the woods, and there still wouldn't be enough at the end of the week. You know, I never got a chance to see my kids grow up, and I still didn't make enough for what we needed.
The people in power aren't suddenly going to make it easy for all of us.
That's why I've been fighting back to protect Social Security and Medicare, and to cut taxes for working people, because you should keep more of what you earn.
Mainers aren't looking for a handout, but we all deserve a fair shot.
I'm Troy Jackson, and I approve this message.
