MAINE, USA —  Fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders rallied in Lewiston and Biddeford on Sunday, firing up crowds filled with hundreds of Mainers.

Troy and Senator Sanders spoke on their shared priorities of lowering costs for everyday people, ensuring equal access to health care, and standing up for Mainers’ and Americans’ rights and freedoms — all things that have been endangered on Susan Collins’ watch.

The pair held three rallies this weekend, speaking with thousands of Mainers across the state encouraging folks to get-out-the-vote as the second week of early voting begins in Maine.

“So Senator Collins has had 30 years in Washington. She tells us that she's one of the most powerful people in the U.S. Senate,” said Troy Jackson. “So I think that Maine has the right to ask, well, what the hell did she do with it? Why is she a powerful person around election time and powerless when we need her?”

“If you believe that Donald Trump and his policies are a danger to the United States and the working families of our country, if you believe that, then we cannot allow the United States Senate to remain a rubber stamp under Republican control,“ said Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
