Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate in Maine

PRESS RELEASE

On The Final Day Of Early Vote, Troy Jackson Emphasizes What’s At Stake In This Election

PORTLAND, ME — On the final day of in-person early voting in Maine and the last day to request an absentee ballot, Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson encouraged Mainers to cast their ballot today or check their voter registration and make a plan to vote on Election day.

“There is too much at stake in this election to sit this one out,” said Jackson. “Under Susan Collins and Donald Trump, working class people have been put on the back burner. While everyday Mainers are struggling to pay their bills, heat their homes, and feed their families, billionaires and corporations are only getting richer thanks to Susan Collins. It’s time for change. It’s time for a senator that answers to Mainers – not Collins, who only answers to Trump and her donors.”

Polls are open today, October 29, for in-person absentee voting. Voters can find information about the location and hours of their local clerk’s office on the Secretary of State’s website.

On Election day, November 3, polls will be open between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. As long as voters are in line by 8 p.m., they are entitled to cast your ballot.

For Mainers who are concerned about the status of their mail-in ballot, they can track it on the Secretary of State’s website to see if it has been received. If it does not get delivered on time, or it’s cutting it close, they can go to the polls on Election Day and vote there. All ballots must be returned by 8pm on Election Day.
