Across Maine, Troy Jackson Meets With Supporters, Shares His Vision to Put Working People First

PORTLAND, ME — Fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson met with supporters at stops across Maine, including community events in Lisbon Falls, Portland, Winslow and Belfast, and a canvass launch for the Maine Democratic party in Augusta.
“'I’ve never seen this type of momentum in the state of Maine,” said Jackson. “And I've been paying attention for a long time, waiting for everyday working class people to step up and get out of line because I know how hard that is. But they are now because they're sick and tired of the government that we have because of Susan Collins, and they want change.”
In Lisbon Falls, Troy met with union workers and supporters and shared his working class roots and dedication to labor.
In Portland, Troy shared his commitment with local Mainers to always fighting for Maine while Susan Collins puts billionaires first.
In Winslow, Troy met with members of the Maine chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby at a garden party, where he heard from supporters about environmental and climate concerns.
In Belfast, supporters gathered to hear Troy speak about his campaign and the momentum behind it.
Jackson said, “There’s always money for bombs. There’s always money for tax cuts for Elon Musk. There’s money everywhere, but when you actually start talking about healthcare for the actual taxpayers, the actual people in this country, they start acting like you have three horns on your head.”
Jackson said, “I’m just blown away by this argument that I’m the most powerful person, the chair of appropriations, but I don’t actually use that power to help the state of Maine.”
In Augusta, Troy rallied volunteers before they headed out to knock doors for candidates up and down the ballot.

Jackson mentioned the strength he's felt within his supporters and the success he's seen so far can't be credited to him individually, but to the work they've done together.
"I don't want to be the guy out front," explained Jackson. "I want to be the guy shoulder to shoulder with all of you because, that to me, is how we're going to change this country, how we're going to get the things that we want, is people feeling like we're all pulling the same way."
