PRESS RELEASE
Following Packed Labor Day Weekend, Troy Jackson Shores Up Sweeping Support Across Key Unions
“When workers stand together, we can’t – and won’t – be stopped.”
PORTLAND, ME — Following Labor Day weekend, fifth-generation Mainer and logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson has shored up support from key unions across Maine and the country. The unions represent hundreds of workers across Maine who have seen Jackson’s commitment to workers’ rights firsthand during his time as Senate President.
“I’m damn proud to have earned these endorsements from my union brothers and sisters. For far too long workers have been getting screwed by Washington. But the tide is turning and it’s starting here in Maine,” said Jackson. “As a longtime union member, I know what it’s like to be sold out by politicians and Susan Collins who side with corporations, not us. Let me be clear: I will always have the back of working people whether it’s on the picket line, at the bargaining table, or in the U.S. Senate, because when workers stand together, we can’t – and won’t – be stopped.”
Jackson, a member of five different unions over the years including IUPAT, IUOE, UAW, IAM & LiUNA, has been endorsed by more than 20 different unions as he runs for U.S. Senate.
