Planned Parenthood Touts Jackson’s Record Championing Reproductive Freedom
PORTLAND, ME — Thursday night, Troy Jackson was joined by Planned Parenthood Action Fund President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson held a town hall in Kittery highlighting Troy’s record fighting to protect reproductive rights for Mainers as State Senate President after Collins’ decisive vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh sent him to the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. Earlier in the day, Troy toured a local Westbrook Business with the President of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, highlighting the importance of organized labor in our communities. On Friday, Jackson attended the Maine Democratic Party’s 96% Press Conference, delivering his closing message ahead of Election Day.
See what folks are saying about Troy on the trail:

CBS: Maine Voters Weigh Sen. Collins’ Role As Chair Of Senate Appropriations Committee
Troy Jackson: Well, I mean, I think the idea that she brings in all this money. Her seniority is so great. Look, I think the money she brings in obviously is great, but it's a pittance to what we're losing. And we haven't even seen the beginning of this. Hospitals understand what's coming. That's why they're cutting off birthing centers and things that aren't as profitable. That's unbelievably unfair. But at the same time, I imagine they're trying to figure out a way to keep going.
Patrice Putnam: I don't think a senator in a national position is there simply to bring home the bacon for Maine. They're there to make good policy for the whole country, and especially for Maine.
WABI: Jackson Hits The Campaign Trail
Troy Jackson: It doesn't seem like she's doing that great a job, anyways. But in the end, she's going to be in the minority. Democrats are going to take this back over with or without me.
FOX 23/WGME: Sheet metal workers union backs Troy Jackson in US Senate race
Katie Sampson: Jackson has the backing of the Sheet Metal Union, they were in Westbrook campaigning for Jackson to defeat Republican incumbent Susan Collins. Jackson says he has support from Democrats, but also Independents and Republicans who are being crushed by the economy under President Trump.
Troy Jackson: People are getting squeezed out of their own homes. And those are things that the federal government can take on. They won't right now, because they're putting money into those elections. Those people are actually spending money against me today to make sure that I don't get elected, so I don't take on those issues. But we're going to beat them, because there's more of us than there are of them.
Anchor: Jackson says he fears many Mainers will lose their homes, jobs and even their businesses if Democrats don't gain control of Congress.
WMTW (Portland ABC): Maine Senate candidates make final pitches days away from the midterms
Jackson said the senator isn’t using her power enough to benefit Maine. “It doesn’t seem like she's doing that great a job anyways,” Jackson said.
Amanda Hill: Hannah Pingree and Troy Jackson were campaigning together today in Westbrook.
Brian Yocono: Jackson running for Senate, Pingree running for governor. Both say they are feeling good five days now out from the election. They visited American Roots, a unionized textile and apparel manufacturer joined by members of the American Federation of Teachers.
News Center Maine: Troy Jackson and Susan Collins making final arguments in their US Senate race
“Susan Collins has had her chance, time and time again, to stand up to Donald Trump, and she's failed time and time again," Jackson said. "I'll fight for Medicare for All, lower prescription drug costs, and the right to make your own health care decisions, and I'll never forget that every vote that I take affects somebody's ability to pay their rent, heat their home, or take their kid to the doctor.”
He said, "I just feel like I'm one of the people right now that knows that this government is broken, and it's time to change it. Because we don't have to settle for the scraps that the billionaires want to give us. We don't have to settle for Donald Trump's corruption, chaos, and crimes, and we don't have to settle for Susan Collins' concern anymore. We can have the government that we deserve, and the government that works for us."
WMTW: Jackson Lays Out Closing Message
Bonnie Bishop: Jackson spent the day talking about something he frequently brought up throughout his campaign, which is Senator Collins' voting record. He criticized Collins for her vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh nearly 10 years ago. Collins has been re-elected since that vote, but this is the first time she's up for re-election since Roe versus Wade was overturned. Jackson also taking jabs at Collins for voting to advance the One Big Beautiful Bill in a procedural vote. Which the senator voted against on final passage, citing concerns to Medicaid cuts. Jackson says if he's elected, there's a chance to overturn that legislation.
Troy Jackson: I know how to use my vote as leverage, unlike her. I mean, she's the chair of appropriations, and she can't get anyone to come with her? I know how to build coalitions. I know how to use vote. I'm not afraid to stand up to Democrats any more than Republicans.
Later on Thursday, Troy joined The 11th Hour on MS NOW to discuss the excitement he’s seeing as he campaigns all across Maine. Watch the full interview here or see below for highlights:

Troy Jackson: In one of the debates that we actually had, she admitted that tariffs are a function of Congress, and she's given up her authority to do that to Donald Trump because she cares more about doing whatever he wants, voting with him 96% of the time.
Troy Jackson: The only way to get tariffs off of Canada is to get a functioning Congress, get Democrats back in control, so that we can hold Donald Trump accountable and take back the power that congress should already have.
Troy Jackson: The stuff that she brings into Maine is a pittance compared to what we're losing because of her inability to keep Donald Trump in check, to do anything to hold him accountable.
Troy Jackson: That is what I do. I fight for everyday working class people. I fight for small business owners. I fight for people that need government to work for them. And meanwhile, billionaires are coming in to make sure that they get their rubber stamp back. And Susan Collins, she's giving them income tax cuts consistently on the backs of our health care system.
