Troy Jackson Ends Labor Day Weekend Blitz Honoring Working People And Organizers Across Maine

MAINE — Fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic Nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson celebrated Labor Day with working people in Brewer and Portland, concluding a three-day long series of events and celebrations highlighting the importance of working people, the labor movement, and the right to organize.

Troy started his day with the Southern Maine Labor Council for their annual Labor Day Breakfast in Portland, where he rolled out his Pledge to Working Mainers, reinforcing his longtime commitment to supporting and uplifting working people across Maine.

Troy’s next stop was with the Maine AFL-CIO for their first-ever canvass kickoff in Brewer. Troy joined AFL-CIO International President Liz Schuler, Democratic Maine gubernatorial candidate Hannah Pingree, and Democratic nominee for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District Matt Dunlap.

To close out Labor Day weekend, Troy joined the Eastern Maine Labor Council for their 15th annual barbecue celebrating the efforts of working people and organizers fighting for better opportunities for everyday Mainers.
