KITTERY, ME — Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson held a town hall in Kittery alongside Planned Parenthood Action Fund President and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson to discuss what’s at stake in this election. Jackson and McGill Johnson called out the harm that Susan Collins has caused women in Maine by confirming over five dozen of Trump’s anti-choice judges, including Brett Kavanaugh, who overturned Roe v. Wade.

“We also have an incredible leader right here today in Troy Jackson. Someone, as Nicole said, who has thought and deliberated, evolved, and made real choices and put his behavior where his ideas are, especially when it comes to protecting freedom,” said Planned Parenthood Action Fund CEO and President Nicole McGill Johnson. “This is a national race because the balance of the U.S. Senate hangs right here in Maine, and I could not be more proud than to stand with our Action Fund endorsed candidate, Troy Jackson.”

“Susan Collins is not going to change. She's doing whatever Donald Trump wants,” said Jackson. “When Maine Women went to D.C. and begged Senator Collins not to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, she did it anyways — and she still doesn’t regret that vote. In Washington, I promise to stand up to Trump or my party when it matters.”

Earlier in the day, Troy visited American roots with Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers and Democratic nominee for governor Hannah Pingree, meeting with employees on the issues they face as costs rise across the board, making it harder for working class people to get by.
