New CNN Poll Shows Jackson With Narrow Edge In Maine Senate Race, Voters Motivated To Retire Collins

PORTLAND, ME — New polling released by CNN and conducted by SSRS today shows fifth-generation Mainer and logger and former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson maintaining his lead against Susan Collins in the race for U.S. Senate.

“It’s no surprise that Mainers are ready to retire No-Show Senator Susan Collins after she’s voted with Donald Trump 96% of the time, confirmed Brett Kavanaugh and two other justices who overturned Roe v. Wade, pushed forward legislation to cut taxes for billionaires by gutting our health care system, handed ICE $70 billion with no strings attached, and signed off on another endless war in the Middle East. The numbers are clear: Mainers are ready for a change and a Senator who will actually show up and fight for them and that’s Troy Jackson,” said Jackson campaign spokesperson Maggie Amjad.

The poll, conducted August 31 and September 6 among 880 registered voters, finds Jackson leading Collins 48% to 45%. The CNN poll follows recent findings that 55% of Maine voters are concerned about Collins voting with Donald Trump 96% of the time.
