NEW: Inside Elections Moves Maine Senate Race From Tilt Republican To Toss-Up

PORTLAND, ME — Today, Inside Elections moved Maine’s U.S. Senate race from “Tilt Republican” to “Toss-Up,” citing Troy Jackson’s momentum as he barnstorms the state and shares his commitment to always putting Mainers first. 

Inside Elections notes that it’s “impossible to ignore the challenges facing Collins this cycle,” while “Trump is deeply unpopular in Maine,” and “Collins’ own image rating is consistently underwater this cycle.”

Jackson, the fifth-generation logger and former Maine Senate President, has maintained a consistent lead over Susan Collins and shows 55% of Mainers think Susan Collins votes with Donald Trump too often.

“This rating is a reflection of everything we are hearing on the ground: Mainers are ready for change, and they want a senator who will fight to make life more affordable — not a rubber stamp who always puts billionaires and corporations first like Susan Collins,” said Jackson for Maine spokesperson Dan Gottlieb. “Mainers are sick of her ‘concern’ while she’s voted with Trump 96% of the time and refused to answer to the people she represents.
