End Citizens United Endorses Troy Jackson For U.S. Senate
PORTLAND, ME — Today, End Citizens United endorsed fifth-generation logger, longtime union member, and former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate. End Citizens United pointed to Jackson’s commitment to getting dark money out of politics and his decades-long record of standing with working people — from organizing fellow loggers in northern Maine to taking on corporations and powerful special interests as Maine Senate President.
“I’m proud to have End Citizens United’s support in this race,” said Jackson. “I’ve spent my career trying to make government work for working people - not billionaires and corporations that try to buy elections. In the U.S. Senate, that’s exactly what I’ll keep fighting for. Susan Collins can keep looking out for billionaires and special interests. I’ll stand with working people every damn time.“
“Troy Jackson knows what it’s like to work hard, play by the rules, and still have the deck stacked against you,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Mainers are sick of watching Senator Collins give billionaires and big corporations whatever they want while working people get stuck with higher costs and fewer economic opportunities. Troy is running to change that. He’s a proven leader who will root out corruption and put working families at the center of every decision he makes. We’re proud to endorse Troy’s people-powered campaign, and we look forward to helping him kick Susan Collins out of office.”
End Citizens United endorsement adds to the growing coalition backing Jackson’s campaign for Senate. Jackson has paired that grassroots enthusiasm with strong fundraising and polling showing him in a competitive position to defeat Susan Collins this November.
In April, ECU added Senator Susan Collins to its 2026 Most Corrupt Politicians List, and she received a failing F grade on ECU’s Anti-Corruption Scorecard this year. Over her career, she has taken a stunning total of $8.5 million in corporate PAC money — the most of any politician in Maine history. She owns one of the most lucrative stock portfolios in Congress while opposing a full ban on congressional stock trading and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United. She has also used her position to maintain tax loopholes for private equity firms, which was the top industry contributing to her 2020 campaign.
