At Packed Town Hall In Gorham, Troy Jackson Answers Questions On Mainers’ Minds, Calls Out Collins

GORHAM, ME —  Last night, fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson hosted his second town hall in Gorham, Maine. With nearly 400 Mainers in attendance, Jackson engaged with voters, took questions, and called out Susan Collins for selling Maine out – from advancing Trump’s health care cuts and confirming Brett Kavanaugh to backing the war in Iran and voting with Trump 96% of the time.

Jackson has repeatedly invited Senator Susan Collins to join him at his town halls. Tonight in Gorham, Jackson saved a seat for her onstage, although she did not show up – continuing her 25-year streak of avoiding public town halls. 

“What I'm seeing in this campaign right now is people are coming together to try and change a government that is not working for them,” said Jackson. “That's why I'm running: people are working harder and harder than ever, and they're getting less and less. Together we’re going to change that.”

The event in Gorham was the second in a series of town halls and community conversations Jackson will hold with Mainers across the state in the coming weeks. Jackson will hold his next town hall Saturday in Jay, with additional events to be announced. Senator Collins is welcome at those, too.
