New TV AD Highlights Troy Jackson’s Working Class Roots

PORTLAND, ME — Today, the Jackson for Maine campaign released a new TV ad highlighting how Troy Jackson’s working-class upbringing shaped his lifelong fight for working people across Maine.

In the ad, “Grocery Store,” Jackson’s mother, Colleen McBreairty, reflects on raising Troy as a teenage parent, the struggles their family faced, and how those experiences drove him to fight for families like theirs.

“Troy was born to two teenage parents, and we struggled a lot,” says McBreairty in the ad. “He didn't use that as an excuse. He used that as fuel to make things better for other people.”

Troy never talks about what he's done. But somebody will come up to me in the grocery store or someplace in town, and they'll say, “Troy, helped me get a sewer. Troy helped me get my mother into a nursing home.” 


If you need help, he's gonna be there for you. That is who he is.
