One Month Since Entering The Race, Troy Connects With Mainers, Leads Polls, Mobilizes Grassroots

PORTLAND, ME —  One month into his campaign for U.S. Senate, fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson has met with thousands of voters across Maine and has taken the lead in polling, with the majority of Mainers reporting concerns with how often Susan Collins votes with Donald Trump. 

In just 30 days, more than 100,000 grassroots donors have contributed to Jackson’s campaign. Over 1,000 Mainers joined Jackson for the Maine Democratic Party’s volunteer kickoff earlier this month, showing a surge of grassroots support for his campaign. Over the past 30 days, Jackson has rallied momentum and met with thousands of Mainers across the state at packed events in Lisbon Falls, Portland, Winslow, Augusta and Belfast.

“I’ve never seen this type of momentum in the state of Maine,” said Jackson. “People are sick and tired of the government that we have because of Susan Collins, and they want change.” 

“In one short month, we’ve built a kick-ass operation that’s reaching across Maine, connecting with voters and sharing the story of a logger from Allagash who has spent his career fighting for working people,” said Campaign Manager Hillary Barrett. “Come November, every Mainer will know that Troy Jackson will always fight for them while Susan Collins has spent years siding with Donald Trump and Washington’s wealthy and well-connected.”
