League of Conservation Voters Action Fund Endorses Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate
PORTLAND – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund today announced their endorsement of fifth-generation logger, former President of the Maine Senate, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson.
“In Maine, protecting our environment and protecting working people have always gone hand in hand,” said Jackson. “Our forests, waters, and working lands aren’t just part of who we are — they support thousands of jobs and communities across our state. I’ve spent my life working in the Maine woods, and I know we don’t have to choose between protecting the places we love and creating good-paying jobs. In the Senate, I’ll fight for clean energy investments that lower costs, create union jobs here at home, and preserve Maine’s natural resources for our kids and grandkids. I’m proud to have the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund standing with us.”
“Mainers have made it clear that they want a senator who will protect our rights and communities and support real affordability solutions instead of prioritizing Trump’s personal benefit and the profits of Big Oil and Gas,” said LCV Action Fund Vice President of Federal Policy Matthew Davis. “Troy Jackson has the experience and the commitment we need to help build a clean energy future that centers good-paying jobs, to protect our lands and waters, and fight for a free and fair democracy.”
This announcement is just the latest sign of broad, grassroots support for Jackson’s campaign. A recent Fox News poll puts Jackson ahead of Susan Collins in a general-election matchup, and Jackson has now picked up more than 100 endorsements from Maine elected officials, labor unions and community leaders.
