PORTLAND, ME —  Ahead of tonight’s first U.S. Senate debate, fifth-generation logger and Democratic nominee Troy Jackson visited Maine Needs in Portland, delivering donations and meeting with workers and volunteers who help Mainers meet their basic needs.

The visit highlighted growing demand for assistance as working families struggle to afford everyday essentials. Jackson discussed his commitment to lowering costs and the consequences of Susan Collins’ support for Donald Trump’s agenda.

“I know what it’s like to work 80 hours a week and still wonder how you’re going to pay the bills,” said Jackson. “The folks at Maine Needs are doing incredible work looking out for their neighbors. They deserve a senator who does the same. Susan Collins keeps backing Trump while working people pay the price. I fought to lower prescription drug costs and make sure kids could eat at school. I’ll bring that same fight to Washington so Mainers can afford the lives they work so hard to build.”
