Troy Jackson Campaigns Across Southern Maine, Holds Solidarity For Seniors Town Hall

SOUTHERN MAINE —  Fifth-generation logger, former Maine Senate President, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson spent Sunday traveling across southern Maine, holding a ‘Solidarity For Seniors’ Town Hall, joining York County Democrats for their annual lobster bake, and celebrating the opening of the Maine Democratic Party’s Portland field office.

“I’ve been waiting a long time for a movement like this in Maine, and I am damn proud to be a part of it,” said Jackson. “When I get to Washington, I promise I will fight for a government that works for working people — the folks who keep this state and nation running.”

Troy joined the Maine Democratic Party for their office opening in Portland, highlighting his appreciation for the volunteers and supporters who’ve joined this movement.

In York, Troy joined the York County Democrats for their Annual Neil Rolde Celebration Lobster Bake along with Matt Dunlap and Hannah Pingree.

Troy ended Sunday at his ‘Solidarity for Seniors’ Town Hall. Jackson recommitted to protecting and strengthening Social Security for current and future retirees, especially as Susan Collins repeatedly voted to weaken Social Security and has even been honored by an anti-AARP group that pushed to privatize social security and convert Medicare to a voucher system. 

This was Jackson’s fourth town hall – four more than Susan Collins has had in 25 years.
