Troy Jackson for U.S. Senate in Maine

PRESS RELEASE

Senator Kelly and Jackson Campaign Across The Midcoast, Rallying Veterans, Volunteers, and Seniors

MIDCOAST, ME — Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly hit the campaign trail on Wednesday, travelling along Midcoast Maine joining veterans, volunteers, and seniors sharing their mission to make the government work for working people again.

Troy and Senator Kelly started the day in Brunswick at Flight Deck, a local brewery on the grounds of a formal U.S. Naval base. Senator Kelly recounted his 20 years of active service and spoke to Troy’s fight for veterans’ benefits.

“Please make phone calls, reach out to your family, your friends, make sure they have a plan to vote, and then follow through with the plan,” said Senator Mark Kelly at the Veterans for Troy event Wednesday morning. “When we send Troy to the United States Senate, he's going to do what he did in the Senate here. He's going to be a leader. He's going to get stuff done for families, for veterans. He's going to fix health care and try to make an economy that works for everybody, not just the top 1%.”

“It’s an honor to have the support of Mainers who have served our country,” said Jackson. “At a time when Donald Trump is endangering American soldiers and firing VA staff it’s more important now than ever to elect leaders who will fight for the men and women who bravely serve our country. In the U.S. Senate, I promise to always protect our troops and the benefits they earn, and ensure they have the support they need when they come home.”

Troy and Senator Kelly stopped in at the Brunswick Democrats office for a canvass launch with nearly 100 supporters and volunteers.

In the afternoon, Troy joined residents of Highlands Senior Center in Topsham to hold a town hall.
