PRESS RELEASE

NEW AD: Jackson Calls Out Collins For Leaving Everyday Mainers To Struggle To Afford Home Heating

PORTLAND, ME —  Today, Troy Jackson for Maine launched a new ad, “Click,” calling out Susan Collins’ refusal to stand up to Trump to end the war in Iran as energy costs spike for Mainers. In the ad, Troy speaks directly to working class families across the state who are struggling to afford home heating oil — which has spiked by 80% since this time last year — as winter quickly approaches.

In “Click,” Jackson slams Collins for her inaction, saying if she “wanted to do something about it, she would have done something already.” Collins’ refusal to use her appropriations gavel to stop the war in Iran while she voted to enable the war five times ties into her disappointing and relentless pattern of placing the interest of Trump and her billionaire donors before Mainers’.

Troy Jackson: It's that time of year again — when mornings are getting cold, and everyone I talk to is worried about heating their homes.

Troy Jackson: It's going to be a challenge, no question about it.

Troy Jackson: Today, heating oil is over $6 a gallon, and instead of helping us, Susan Collins is funding this reckless war in Iran that is driving our costs through the roof.

Troy Jackson: If Susan Collins wanted to do something about it, she would have done something already. It's time to stand up to Trump.

Troy Jackson: I'm Troy Jackson. I approve this message because we need to end this war.
