PORTLAND —  Fifth-generation logger, former President of the Maine Senate, and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Troy Jackson met with voters and shared his commitment to fighting for Maine at the Supper Club in Portland Wednesday evening.

“I have spent my whole life watching what happens when working people decide they have had enough and start standing together – you can feel it happening again right now,” said Jackson. “Let’s defeat Susan Collins, let’s send a working-class voice to the United States Senate, and let’s build a government that finally works as hard for working people as working people have always worked for this country.”

“Troy Jackson has always shown up for Mainers and union nurses know that firsthand – he’s always stood shoulder to shoulder with us whether we’re taking on hospital executives, fighting for better conditions, or walking a picket line,” said Kelli Brennan, co-president of the Maine State Nurses Association, who introduced Jackson to the crowd.

“We’ve seen that commitment year after year. While Susan Collins has sold us out and voted with Donald Trump 96% of the time, we know with Troy in the Senate Mainers will have the voice and advocate we deserve. We’re ready to get to work knocking doors, talking to our neighbors, and doing everything we can to elect Troy Jackson.”
